Getting a new computer

Post by hvpmvp »

I am looking for a new computer, and I was wondering whether to get pre-built or build it myself! So maybe I could get some help here, and maybe get some advice on parts? I would be looking for a computer that isn’t like a $5,000 god computer, just a computer that can run sim more or less full tilt and other motocross games. Thanks!

What's your budget? Putting it together yourself will save you money.

If you want a prebuilt NZXT BLD has a good system and if you want to help local (https://www.versuspc.com/) is a guy who plays sim and builds PC so he could be a huge help on getting an MXS specific PC.

The building option is cheaper in most cases but then you also assume all support for it where prebuilds if anything breaks you just go through them. If you want to build your own and accessories (keyboard/mouse/headset/etc) I'll be happy to get you a part list. Just quote me so it sends a notification, I don't check forums much but I'll see the icon.

I’ll probably build my own, but just as a note, I would like to be able to play other games like supercross the game and all out. Thanks

Forgot to ask as well your location. I'm not sure of the currency and stores available to you.

Assuming you are US based then. An i5/1070 is a mid/high tier combo that can run any game. I went with this over an i7/1080 combo for savings as the performance/$ ratio starts to go down, the i5/1070 will absolutely still rock anything at high detail. You do have the budget for it though if you wanted to but I think the extra $500 could go towards a fast refresh rate monitor or better keyboard/mouse or even a collection of Steam games.
