New Stats Website

For any of you that missed it, like myself; JLV has created a new stats website.
http://www.mxsimulator.com/servers/allservers/
This site rates everyone based on a ratio of how many people you have beaten, compared to how many people have beaten you. If you have defeated everyone, your rating will be 100%.
It also gives pretty detailed race statistics, like a history chart, and a list of all the lap times in order.
Each rider has a statistics page, where earned awards are displayed. To view a riders statistics, simply click on their name anywhere on the site, or enter their UID at the end of the following link.
http://www.mxsimulator.com/servers/alls ... ayers/UID/
eg, here is my page
http://www.mxsimulator.com/servers/alls ... layers/41/ (as you can see, I havent played much lately).
I'm loving this site. Much easier to handle than Knarfs site, and you can actually link to specific things now.
Here are some suggestions though:
- Menus. Its pretty hard to find your way around right now.
- User search. Although, user the browsers find function on the main page can do that job.
- Some sort of dynamic image or text that we can put into our signatures, giving our rank or whatever.
- Total racing time. Most other games have this statistic
- Name history. People are constantly changing names, so its hard to know whos who.
Definitely bookmarking this page

I also dont like the ranking system right now it goes by percentage so someone who races one race and wins it will be on the top of the ranking page but someone who races 100 races and wins 95 is lower then the one who races only 1 race
make sense

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that into my suggestions. Its the same problem with PureMXS. They need an algorithm that takes into the amount of races/uploads that the user has done.

awesome. I like it. also love the new stat that shows the amount of DNF's. gives that extra motivation to finish a race. too bad i already got one and didn't know

.
I already got a few rewards too. I'm somewhat of an achievement whore, so I'm loving it.
I think there should be a system in place like you have to finish a certain amount of races before you are ranked with the other riders, like 10 or 20. if you can win 0races in a row you deserve to be on top haha.
I assume these ratings are only counted if there are 2 or more riders in the server.

sorry for double post.
I just rode a few laps on my own in a server and I got a win for finishing a race on my own. i think a win should only be awarded if there were 2 or more riders in the race. or at least 2 or more riders at the start of the race.

i think this is just for awards.
I like the awards idea, maybe JLV could make more, list up all awards and make 1 ranking where just awards count!

It's an good idea, but why don't put the stat of the older site on this site, to have the good records for each tracks.
And adding number of records. Also i thinkthat the rating is not verry good, a rider who ride 2 race per month will be easier on top of classement than a guy who run 10 race per days.
ps: Sorry for the grammar , i'ts morning..

Joe it will even out eventually...
Not sure if it's already been suggested but I would like to propose that we have percentages for ranking with different categories, much like a teacher might grade their class....
Example could be
30% finish order
30% crash/consistenscy
5% holeshot
10% experience
5% dnf
20% complaints/bans
That is just a quick example of hte break down, but then that score can be presented as a ranking/percent/score out of 100 or whatever, but would just further break it down.

I was just thinking about this. Maybe it should be something like this:
Rating(Overall) = Rating * (1-exp(-kR))
where k is a constant, and R is the number of races.
By doing this, people who have only done a couple of races can have no way of being at the top of the table. After a decent number of races, Rating(Overall) will approach Rating, as the rider has somewhat proved that the earlier races weren't somewhat flukes.

It would also be cool to have a command in the server to have an "organized race" and keep separate stats for organized competition, because we all know the competition is much stiffer at those! haha

actually to have the records reset is a good thing in my opinion.. there were a bunch of times that were never going to get beaten because the physics changed with rider falloff etc.
this way we get a fresh start and everyone has equal chance of getting a lap record
