Uber lag/slow framerate?

Sorry it's not going to run on an ATI XPERT 98 (aka Rage Pro) card. Only having 8 megs of texture memory is a show stopper. Even with enough texture memory it's hard to imagine it working well.

I called up my computer tech teacher and she doesn't even know what a GPU is, haha. I really want to get into skinning and stuff because we have to make our own projects for the class so I can make some skins for my grades. I think my class is called computer design...yea...I want to do that in college too.

I really don't think its worth getting another card for that computer. If you get a professional computer technician to put the card in (as laptops are a bitch to work on from what I know), they will probably charge more than the computer is worth.

I got kicked out of my brothers house where i had a really nice computer so i moved back in with my mom and got her piece of s**t laptop since she got a new one... /: no MX sim for me. :l


P.S. If I clean my room 110% my brother said that he would probably bring my computer over to my moms house but if he does that then my mom is going to update the crap out of it and add a bunch of parental control crap on it AND it looks look alike a bomb went off in my room, TWICE!

i think it is the same problem that i get, only started happening recently, it wil run any track fine at around 90fps but then every 20 seconds or so it will slow right down to 10fps then back up again. this is not spec related i dont think as it happens equally on rabbit hill or washougal. It may be graphics drivers though as i had to roll back to older ones after the latest ones screwed my computer.

Not bring back a dead topic, but if people are having slow framerates, I would recommend using RivaTuner. It basically lets you overclock your GPU, as well as give you a lot of tweaking settings. I use it, and I see a huge increase in my framerate. Totally recommend it to everyone, even if you have a pretty good card.

You need to know how to update/uninstall drivers using the Device Manager

I got my desktop from my brothers house and I started playing the demo the other day. Its pretty tight but im not to good. Im going to try and learn how to no tip over all the time...haha
