You will need to open the shading file and change the dimensions of the shading file to the displacement map. It will most probably be 1025x1025 or 2049x2049

i opened the shading file in my notepad and it has p61025 1025 in it

Yes, because you can edit images in a notepad

oh so dj do i need to erase everything in the notepad and then just do "1025(space)1025"?

You're going to have to use a paint program that outputs PPM files. If you use notepad for image editing you truly have mad skillz.

i am so confused .
im trying to make a replica of ctmx aka rocky hill mx

ok so what im wondering is how do you like change the color of dirt and add shading
i do not have photo shop but i have gimp . i already put all the jumps and berms in using in game editor . there is only dirt and grass under tile map edit so how do i like get some better looking dirt ?

ok i read the part about decals . seemed a little advanced for me to under stand lol . seemed like it skipped a step . it doesnt say anything about making decals or getting them so.....some help?

I don't have the in game track editor, how do i get it? and also, when i clicked edit, the map was a bunch of cliffs and stuff... but i followed the diredtions like perfectly...

if i wanted to add mud to my track like the mud from newtiletest i would just go into my personal file open newtiletest
.copy and paste newtile info into the blank track file . then in editor i press tilemap edit and then just put in the mud rite?

i created displacement map using "L3DT 2.7" and called it terrain.png, copied to my blank track folder but in editor my blank track is still flat :(
