Yep. Only now did I realise that the background image in that shot he posted is the older background. The future looks grim for CSI Australia

Hey JLV, I was looking online and found that a .pgm image is basically a transparency map. So, is it just telling the game how much of the decals to show, similar to a pixel mask in photoshop? Like, you dont need to leave the .bmp all black, and making it more white would decrease the intensity of the shadows?

A PGM is a "Portable Gray Map". It's just a 2d array of grayscale pixels. You could use it for a transparency map but that's just one possible use. The shadows file controls the intensity of the sun color when calculating the shading.
