Nice tutorial, hopefully this will help a lot of people and reduce the number of threads with people asking for skins. I could have done with this tutorial 2 months ago though haha

Yes although PS and GIMP are pretty similar, there are still some pretty big differences between them, so a gimp tut. would be greatly appreciated.

I just got Adobe Illustrator CS6 and want to start skinning on cutouts with that instead of Photoshop, and transfer my graphics onto the .psd in Photoshop to save the bike with colored clamps, etc., but I'm having problems. Has anyone figured out an efficient way to do this?
A company I might get an internship for uses Illustrator for design so I figured I'd use MXS to get used to it but I can't figure out how to get the cutout to work well with it. I can't even select parts of the cutout.

Any general help or advice is much appreciated. Thanks :)
