Front Wheel Lock

Post by PINNEDTOWIN »

It's just the worst...
Not completely sure but i think this was originally implemented as a way to punish people who were punting other players but instead has become a complete burden. At least make it an option for a server to either adjust the settings on how severe the "lock" is or to completely remove it so that organized races could escape this unnecessary crash creating monster that is front wheel lock.

what do you mean by lock ? When breaking ?
Tennis, Basketball and Baseball all requires one ball
Motocross requires two!

I don't think it actually locks the front wheel, it just disables the stabilizer which makes it REALLY difficult to stay up.

its so annoying on when someones checks up real fast and moves over an inch, and you slightly touch them and go down. i mean its one things if your being reckless and run into the back of someone. but i try to be super cautious and not run into the back of people, but sometimes it just happens and you get fucked.

I wasn't contesting Zach's point. Trying to explain to Kording.

No, I know. It's just that there is not locking anymore, but it sure as hell feels like it!

You just suck at the game. Learn how to play better. Change your setup. Blah blah blah.

I was referring to the effect you get when you barely touch another rider with your front wheel. You just tap the back wheel of another bike and you lose all control and fall over and sometimes even results in a fall-off crash.

I was also curious if this effect could be done relative to speed of collision because at the moment it seems as though there is just one reaction for every collision speed. I am all for people getting front wheel "lock" when they run into someone at a high speed but supercross really brings out the problem with this system.

Example:

Rider A hits a 180 degree corner at 6mph
Rider B hits the corner directly behind him at 7mph
Rider B slightly misjudges rider A's turn and bumps his back wheel at a relative 1mph...
Rider B now suddenly loses all control and falls to the ground frantically pressing his life alert necklace

The front wheel is the devil!

What happens when you're riding, someone side-swipes you slow and you fall over into them after they ride past? I suppose it's because your front wheel is usually turned away so falling over would make you fall that direction, but if the other is moving slow enough I always thought the rider would be able to stabilize himself.

The front wheel lock is fine its just the collision bubble for it is a mile wide.
