It saves screenshot001.ppm, screenshot002.ppm etc when you press the screenshot key.gordy wrote:built in screenshots? cool!
is it just going to be a straight up press a button type thing, or are we going to have a few options?

Re: Game Suggestions
how about straffe when your in the free roam camera? that would come in handy really good... and there was somthin else ill let you know when i think of it

Re: Game Suggestions
I think the freeroam camera controls need an update. IMHO now that we have rider lean the up-down angle should be adjusted by the riderlean controls instead of the gearshift buttons. Atleast for me that would be better since I have the steering and lean on the same analog stick, and I think many others have this setup also.
Also the strafe would be cool, it would open many new possibilities in making videos.

Re: Game Suggestions
I want to play this game less and less everytime I play it, I just get more frustrated with the grip! I seriously think this should be the next thing fixed.

OH! you know when you just start and (i play in 3rd person) and your camera is pointing straight at the ground i hate that you have to start a race just to adjust the camera could it be like you have it where you like it then when you quit it saves the camera position so you dont have to go through all that just to do one little thing it would come in handy so nicely

Re: Game Suggestions
I was in a rush and PPM is very easy to write. Here is all it takes to write a PPM file in C:WILSONATV wrote:Why .ppm?
fprintf(fp, "P6\n%d %d\n255\n", width, height);
fwrite(pixels, 3, width * height, fp);
I'll make it do PNG instead before I release it, but it's hard to beat PPM for simplicity.

Viscous friction will be the next thing I do after I make a few more minor changes. However, I doubt it will make you happy. This game will always be about pushing it right to the edge without going over. Viscous friction will make you lose traction more gradually, but to keep up with the top riders you will still have to be right on the edge of control.

Re: Game Suggestions
as it said in someones signature a while ago:
"If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough"- Mario Andretti

instupitious.
Re: Game Suggestions
How about the response speed of input. When i am on a jump and want to whip, or make a realy fast weigh transfer, the handle bars turning is allways the same, it would be cool to have an ajustable slider with the response speed of inputs and with an exponential mode slider too.
I feel that all the engines rev realy slow, it takes like 1.5 seconds to rev from idle to redline, shouldn't it be almos instataneous? And when riding a 125 like I do, you realy need to be in the powerband out of turns, and the slow reving allways makes me have to double or triple cluch to get to the power band.
Also, on a dirtbike, everyone has to play with the weight of the body sideways, to get the bike on the ruts and on turns, no one is allways up straight. The turning input could be not only to steer the bars but to transfer the riders position to one side or the other, as a combined input. There could be a couple of sliders (yeah, I realy like these) to ajust the amount of each, steering or transfering weight, the input would give, and wich one comes first (when pressing a turn key, what would the rider start to do first? turning the bars, getting his body to the side, or both at the same time?) This is my idea of having the rider to transfer his weight sideways as I don't think that 2 steering inputs would be a good thing.
Oh and please, the tires slide too much, I know everyone knows but it realy needs to be corrected.
I think that all my sugestions would make the game easier, as more predictable and more playable, because mxs has allways been, as you said a couple of posts back, about being on the limit, yeah.. but you allways have that "round" feeling that takes you from riding normaly, to agressive, to riding on the limit, and mxs does not have that(except for the stability setting), every input you give is meant to be used when riding on the limit, and we can't all be mxs champions, it needs to be more forgiving and having some space betwen the riding "normaly" when not pushing, and riding on the limit. BUT I am not trying to say to make the game more like arcade mode! Just add to the game the parts of reality that make riding normaly possible, and not having to allways ride with that "agressive feel" that riding on the limit gives.
Thanks jlv!
