Updated 250 2 strokes
I would like to see an update on the 250 2 strokes in the future.
IMO they are not really competetive, they feel slow and handle really weird.
I can clear big jumps on 250f's that I can't clear on the 250 2 strokes, while in real life, my stock 250 is way faster than my modded 250f.

Re: Updated 250 2 strokes
I tried to go down this path when they first came out but didn't get anywhere.
Re: Updated 250 2 strokes
Are you riding them "correctly"? I've never really seen on a regular track that 250cc are in general throughout the whole track slower than a 250f. It takes a while to find the powerband but once that's done, they're faster to me. Also it's a short power band...

Re: Updated 250 2 strokes
The 250's make the meat of their power between 6500rpm and 8600rpm. I think the sounds in MXS through it off because you think you have to be revving it to the max to go fast.
I know this is a modded YZ250, but you get the idea.

Yeah, most people seem to ride the 250 as a 250f or 125, which is higher rpm's.ShackAttack12 wrote:The 250's make the meat of their power between 6500rpm and 8600rpm. I think the sounds in MXS through it off because you think you have to be revving it to the max to go fast.

Re: Updated 250 2 strokes
I constantly ride the rm250 and I have no problems with it. The 250 2-strokes are different than every other bike in the game, all you really need to do is get used to the power and the handling. Also, some of the 250 2-strokes like to slide in quite a few corners, especially the yz. Might just be me. I have a 1979 rm250 in my garage (I race vintage) and it will blow my friends 2009 yz450 outta the water.
Re: Updated 250 2 strokes
They're tougher in SX to ride fast, but outdoors are pretty damn smooth. I just have trouble stopping them compared to the other bikes for some reason.

As if that "modded" YZ doesnt even put out 45hp. They are really behind the game! Just with a FMF Fatty and powervalve adjustment my Husky got 48.
Re: Updated 250 2 strokes
Then Luke Arbons gets #63hp

Re: Updated 250 2 strokes
fyi dynos are not all the same. a 3hp variation between dynos is pretty good!.they are really just a tuning tool, you make an adjustment, do a dyno run and see if it made more power from the previous run, its also great for engine knock, correct AF ratios ect in a safe environment. With most dynos you can easily change some values like "ambient air temp" in the config of your dyno settings and HP will vary a lot. don't read into dyno charts too much. the only true way to see if your husky does have more power than the yz is to test both bikes on the same dyno on the same day.dylan22 wrote:As if that "modded" YZ doesnt even put out 45hp. when I say "don't read into dyno charts too much", I mean don't worry about overall power so much.
