I had people pull this type of crap when I was taking pictures for free every race. If I didn't take pictures I wouldn't hear the end of it and when I did they would take them, claim them as their own, and never so much as say thanks. Crazy how people will gobble up free stuff and expect it to be theirs.

So now you are going to try to pull a "He ripped off Kawasaki for bike design" crap? News Flash dude, Every single thing in this game is based off of real life counterparts. However its not ripping, its using their likeness. Its the same way that Southpark gets away with joking the shit out of celebrities, organizations, and companies. Kawasaki didn't make the bike for MX Sim, Andy did. Its a likeness to the real Kawasaki but it isnt ripping.
Also you didn't just ask him respectfully, you pushed the topic and used sly little remarks as blows against him. Don't try to make yourself look like a saint.

keeps the revs up i guess, like across bumps it doesn't shift up so you can keep the power on?

Being able to hold gears is really useful. I started using manual and you can hold your gear through corners, accelerate quicker (like in rhythm sections), and it's made whoops a hell of a lot easier.
