armature animations, ambiente occlusen, realtime shadows

Post by MXfish »

Hi there,

I am a 3D spezialist and was wondering if mx simulator does feature armature animtaions (for example to move trees by the wind, or spectators who are waving theire Hands etc.)
I know that it is possible to import an animated image sequence, but thats not what I am looking for.

Also I was looking for some kind of reeltime ambiente occlusen, or at least realtime bike shadows?

If there aren't this features jet, will they be in future builds?
I think this features would enhance the graphics immense.

Thanks

I like the idea, but do you think it will kill our computers?

I know that you can't compare mx simulators graphics engine to for example Unreal Engine. But I have a gamer PC, and there is still enough power, for shados and all this kind of stuff.
And like the texture quality it is possible to use differrent shadow samples.

I mean, look at mx vs atv, they also got shadows and animtaions, and its working.

JLV has talked about wanting to add Java Script scripting and the dynamic shadows. Would be cool to hear about it again, if its something he still wishes to add in the near future.
But to answer your actual question, these features are not yet possible.

Just a guess but I would think there would be an option to turn stuff off, kind of like the option to use shaders or not.

Definitely planning on letting track objects use armatures. The mesh rendering code already supports it for the rider but there's no scripting ability to do the actual positioning with at the moment.

I can't say I'm a big fan of screen space ambient occlusion, but I do plan on adding a second pass for some HDR effects which would make SSAO fairly easy to add.
