Hobble the 2009 250 SX-F?

Post by jlv »

I was just comparing the 2016 250f's to the what we have now, and the 2009 250SX-F (Transworld dyno) is still more powerful than any other bike. I'm thinking of flattening out the end of the run from 11-14k. The way the torque spikes up is unlike any other bike and the other dyno I have for that bike doesn't show the same thing. What do you guys think?

You shouldn't have posted that, now everyone who still thinks the 2009 YZF is the fastest 250f will all be on a KTM!

What do the 2013 dynos being used look like compared to the 2009s?

The 2013 dynos are weaker for every 250f except the KX.

Were the 2013's from Moto USA? Their dyno always seemed to read lower than others I've seen.

I think I used Transworld for the 250f's and MotoUSA for the 450f's in 2013.

Haven't really paid interest in the bikes in real life, but doesn't the bikes get more powerful for each year? Meaning that the 16 ones should be just as compelling to ride as any from a previous year?

Gotcha.

Generally that's the case, but the discrepancy between dynos/dyno conditions (atmosphere) can be larger than the power differences.

Yeah I know, think I heard it somewhere. Would it be fair to lessen the power of the earlier models to make them equal/slightly lower in power to the new ones? Sucks that you have to use the old ones.

I couldnt ever tell if the sx-f was more powerful than the yamaha or if it was the different gearing, good to know that it is actually more powerful. I find it harder to ride as well personally in comparison to the yamaha though.

How about the new bikes be based on dyno's with hopups like exhaust and such, win win :D

You would need dyno runs from the same source using the same pipes, you aren't going to find that so stock bikes it is :).

I wouldn't have a problem with it. I use the 09 250sxf because I think its the best in-game 250. If you nerfed it then everyone would just go to the next best one, so it doesnt really affect anything other than having to get used to a different dyno for those that used the ktm. Everyones on the same bike at the end of the day anyway lol

Do you plan on releasing the 2016 dynos in a snapshot or wait until the next update?
