In my opinion I think this would be a pretty cool addition to the game.

Probably doable when scripting is done. Just trigger a sound file as the time starts counting.

The initial scripting support is just going to be script controlled texture animations and bones. I'll add other stuff like sounds later.

Probably going to post a snapshot tomorrow. Would have posted it tonight but I found an issue in the terrain texture code that was preventing it from updating correctly. It was prioritizing textures that had just come into range over textures that were modified by erode, which meant as long as you were moving fast enough the erode modified textures would be starved for updates. Should be way better with the fix in place.
