Normals and spec on multiple skins

Post by JP37R »

Is there a way to use a single spec map and a single normal map for multiple skins? if its possible I'd like to know how to do it because it would save a lot of MB's of repeat norm+spec images in a skin pack.

Name your skins to a different model and have the norms and specs specific to that model.

Yeah, you just have to have a separate model to use. Copy the jm's you want for the model, and give them a unique name (rider_body-Name Me). Then you can name the skins "rider_body-Name Me-Skin Name.png" and the maps "rider_body-Name Me_norm" and "rider_body-Name Me_spec.png"

You explained it a lot better, and were probably more helpful though. I was being lazy.
