New GPU 60 fps 'lock' ?

Hey, sorry for making a new topic but I don't think there's one about this, I got my new GPU in today, my old one was an Ati Radeon HD 5770, and I upgraded to a Geforce GTX 660, now the thing is that mxs now seems to 'cap' fps at 60, or it's locked there, and it jumps to around 57 / up to 63 sometimes, other games run alot better now, but mxs seems a bit sketchy, could it be there's still some stuff from my old GPU on my pc?
I installed the new graphics card drivers first, and then uninstalled the old one's.
Please help. <3

Yeah vsync on or off there's no difference, it just seems to be 'locked' at 60 fps somehow, even with low graphics. :?

That's weird. Is it just in mxs or in other games as well?

Yeah, I've only tried mxs and dirt 3, dirt 3 runs alot better than before, but mxs is worse this way, as I used to get 125 fps with my old card (in single player).. :(

You're still only seems 60 frames anyways. MXS probably looks better with being on and smoothed than it rendering 125 and getting screen tearing. Lower number doesn't always mean it's worse.

More frames = more input reads per second. To say that 60 FPS is better than or as good as 125 is just ignorant.

Make sure you turn off Vsync in the NVIDIA Control Panel, then apply the changes you make, then restart your game. Unless you're on an especially taxing track or something, you should be able to play just as well as you did with your past GPU.

60 FPS with V sync on a 60mhz monitor is way better than 125fps w/o v sync on a 60mhz monitor. ... Are you kidding me?

Why else do you think people will willingly drop 10-65 frames for VSync. More frames doesn't mean shit if you can't see it and get screen tearing.

When you're playing, it's not about visuals. It's about controls. The human eye can only register about 30 fps, but you deny that 30 fps feels extremely clunky in comparison to 60 or 120. 60 fps is definitely smooth, but if you play at 120+ all of the time, then round a corner, load a bunch of stuff, then drop to 90, you can tell a huge difference because your controls will get funky. Try it in a game that requires twitch reactions like Counter Strike or any other shooter. Try sniping with your frames capped at 60, then try sniping at a higher framerate. Noticeable difference.

I have never had any noticeable issues with screen tearing in MXS.

The human eye can see more than 30fps. And I'm getting too drunk to dispute the rest. Also in my experience I set hella bad tearing. I need 120hz monitor.

Yeah I did this August, I'm not a complete tool when it comes to computers, it feels like I'm missing something but I don't know what.. So I was hoping someone else has had the same problem going from an ATI card to NVIDIA..

At times it feels like I'm not even running 10fps its a little weird, cause fraps says its around 60 still at these moments, but the game 'freezes' for like a millisecond.. :?
