Opening Up The Game Issues

Post by Tactical B4ndit »

So when I click on Sim to open it up and play it'll say "not responding' and then crash. Now this used to happen the first time I open it but then after that it's fine, but now it takes over a dozen attempts to successfully open up the game. Just curious is anyone has any idea as to why this is happening and can help.

It is happening to me too! However it seems like the more stuff I add to the game, the more attempts it take to start. Like it can't index all the files before the timeout-limit is reached, not sure, just a thought.

You might want to try removing or renaming your config file so it'll start with the defaults. What graphics card and driver are you guys using?

I'm using a MSI GTX660 OC edition 2GB
Driver: 347.09 WHQL, the latest one.

JLV, what exactly in the config file do you think could cause this?

This always happens to me at least once or twice. Always has.

Assuming it's failing just loading the title screen all I can think of would be a video mode it doesn't like. Most of the other settings wouldn't have any effect until you load a track.

So surprisingly without doing anything it's starting to work again. So I honestly have no idea what was going on

If my computer is using a lot of RAM it seems to happen, if I close programs that were using the RAM it starts fine. Usually a ton of tabs in Chrome and a few big PSDs open and it will fail every time. Also if I do anything while it is loading up it will not respond every time also.

Probably going to be hard to do anything about that. Does it eventually go if you wait instead of closing it?

For me it doesn't matter if I have a lot of stuff open or not, at least not anything that should affect it. I have 8gb of RAM so I should be good on that side.

Opening for the first time always takes forever and crashes no matter how long my PC has been on or how much RAM is being used. Even before the title screen update. Any chance we can get a fix for this soon?

I have 32gb of ram in my system so even with a bunch of stuff open I should have plenty to spare.
