Mx simulator lag all of a sudden

Post by ashien »

Hello all, been playing sim for 2 years, no problems with lag. I reinstalled windows, and now its lagging.
Specs:
gtx970 video card
intel I5 at 3.0 ghz
16gb ram

Newest drivers installed, everything the same. Nothing special on any track, it happens everywhere and randomly. FPS stays the same.
I can not cause it, its every 30- seconds to a minute.

Try disabling threaded optimizations in Nvidia control panel.

Just to make sure you don't have any over the top settings, click "Use High Detail Settings" and restart the game.

Having display scaling enabled can cause problems. Right click on mx.exe and then click Properties. On the Compatibility tab, select Disable Display Scaling On High DPI Settings, and then click OK.

It could also be a background program. Try booting in diagnostic startup mode. If that fixes it you'll have to go through your background programs to figure out which one is causing it.

Still nothing JLV, I realize an old bump but this issue still persists. I can not for the life of me find a fix, I am at this point willing to try installing a different OS if it means working. No hardware changes since last time.

Does disabling demo recording affect it?

Nada, this happens in all modes, single player, multi, and time trials.

I'm running out of ideas. Does it happen on the title screen?

Well good news, quite a funny fix. Switched the game from windowed to fullscreen, I am assuming that it dedicated more resources to the program, thus treating it like a actual game and not just a window. Then again, who knows. Either way, frames are stable, no random lag. Can finally enjoy the game again! I appreciate all the help JLV.
