client server too old yet i have latest update
client server too old yet i have latest update
whenever I try to join most servers I get denied as it says client is too old for this server, yet I don't understand why seen as I always have the most recent updates by jlv from the general discussion
Re: client server too old yet i have latest update
You have to name the snapshot update "mx" for the links on the server page to use it. Check the version number at the lower right of the menu to make sure you're using the version you expected.

Check the version number in the menu after you get the error.prez77 wrote:I have done that though I think, its probably me being stupid but my mate gets the same problem where we get the latest snapshot and name it 'mx.exe' yet it still says client too oldjlv wrote:You have to name the snapshot update "mx" for the links on the server page to use it. 1. download the snapshot
2. take the old mx.exe out of the game files and onto desktop
take the new snapshot into the game files and name it 'mx.exe'
3. go on to main menu and in the bottom it says version 1.11 if that means anything
4. try to join an online server and then says client too old for server
btw thanks for helping im just a real goon at computers lol
Re: client server too old yet i have latest update
It should say something like "2019-04-30-1498 snapshot" if it's installed correctly. The default location for the executable is "C:\Program Files (x86)\MX Simulator". Be aware that the ".exe" extension is hidden by default in file explorer so you want to name the file "mx".prez77 wrote:ok, I really don't know how im getting it wrong so ill just go through everything I do
