Anyway to prevent clipping on objects from long distance?

If you have a plane over the top of another plane on an object, they will start clipping through each other after a certain distance. Is there a way to prevent this? Does the z depth buffer have any effect on this in the target line?

You can put a bigger gap between the planes. If it's a small track you could move the far clip plane in for some more depth buffer precision. Moving the near clip plane out would also help but it'll start clipping the bike and rider if you move it out much.
