Deadzone issues - xbox 360 controller for windows

So my old controller died recently, the sticks were a little funky and there was no deadzone so even on the gate i was always turning one way or another slightly but this is something id got used to over the last few years.

I've now got a new controller and have a horrible deadzone, no matter what values i try and input in the config file i still have this horrible deadzone steering left and right on the left stick (i play 2 stick)

I've tried stuff like:

left_key=(-0.062500,-0.937500)Controller(XBOX360ForWindows) axis 0
right_key=(0.062500,0.937500)Controller(XBOX360ForWindows) axis 0

with no success and even the extremes of

left_key=(-0.000001,-0.999999)Controller(XBOX360ForWindows) axis 0
right_key=(0.000001,0.999999)Controller(XBOX360ForWindows) axis 0

Any advice on how to remove it?
