Controller help

Im new to the game and have an xbox one controller that wont connect to mx sim. its connected to bluetooth and works with other games but not this please help

-Try turning on the controller before loading the game.
-Then go into controller settings in game and set that up.
I think the controller settings are preset to keyboard. I could be wrong though.

Do you have an xbox bluetooth adapter? Just searched some of the forums and that was the common issue. People were trying to use non xbox bluetooth adapters. Could be wrong. I've always ran wired controllers with no issues.
