Statue (3d) = billboard ?

Statue (3d) = billboard ?

Im trying to find a nice billboard for myself to use on track comp, a pine tree (or mountain pine tree/something similar)
but i cant find any good ones, now im using some google images (2 was ready with alpha and 1 wasnt so i did it to alpha but it looks bad)
AND
I heard that it would be possible to transform the 3d (like a tree) to a billboard?
can someone tell me how or tell me if that's even possible?

(a small tutorial would be nice since i have no clue what so ever how /IF its possible)

You just have to render a tree with an alpha background

thanks, that helps, i was thinking that it might be just rendered out on alpha, but i tough theres more to it...

But i managed to find some cool trees for free (in some gaming forms, this site had free AND expencive trees)
and now im trying to get to use them, the credits/rules/readme files on every tree says that you may use it how ever, only
wrong thing to do is to release them against creators will for money, or some other stuff like that, it says you may use them for commercial or non commercial use :)
