How do i make ruts for my track with erode on?

Ok i put erode on then i went and rode on my track that im making. Then i watched the demo and when i rewind and play over the same spot it doesn't make the rut. Am i doing something wrong i have erode set at 1. What do i need to do?

Try raising the track where you want to have ruts.
