If I'm using one of Gio's skins for the Shoei or a skin named on the model he released, then the model is perfectly fine, even at low graphics. But if I'm using a skin on the model that DJ released in Phathry's template thread it has these weird splits where the wireframe ends. I'm wondering if there is any way to make the model in the first picture be fine just like the one in the second picture.
Model DJ released: The "split" is right at the top of the helmet, in the middle. And you can see it a little where the helmet meets the rubber stuff.
Model released by Gio: (with custom shader maps and skinning ofcourse)
Thanks in advance,
Tyler
"Splits" in Shoei Model.
Re: "Splits" in Shoei Model.
Does the skin have an alpha background? If so, the alpha is bleeding into the rest of the skin at lower mip maps
Re: "Splits" in Shoei Model.
That fixed it. Thanks man. Another quick question though. Should the background be a specific color or does it really matter?
Re: "Splits" in Shoei Model.
It doesn't matter, as long as your skin covers the whole texture space. If it doesn't, the background color (or alpha) will show on the helmet, because it will be in the texture space.
Re: "Splits" in Shoei Model.
Yeah, that's what I figured. Thanks guys.
Re: "Splits" in Shoei Model.
Preferably, you would want the background colour to be similar to the helmet colour. But it doesnt matter all that much
