Could you save this file in your install folder and run it?

That exe uses the same window style as GLTest when it creates its window.

Check the lastlog.txt file again to see if it got any farther. You could also try replacing your config file with this:

xres=800
yres=600
video_mode=Windowed

If you could post what's in WERInternalMetadata.xml that might help too.

I'll put some more logging info into the game to narrow it down. I expect it's crashing in the SetPixelFormat call.

Try this. When it crashes post the end of the lastlog.txt file again.

Wow, that most recent snapshot saved the day JLV! You're the best man.

I went into my device manager where i remembered seeing G2 Desktop, I disabled it and there we go!

Not quite sure what G2 desktop is but hopefully i dont need it.

That's crazy that that stopped the crash. Besides the extra logging, I added 1024 bytes of buffer before and after the pixelformatdescriptor buffer just in case the SetPixelFormat call was writing outside the memory it was given. So apparently SetPixelFormat just randomly overwrites stuff when that driver is running!

Well, G2 Desktop is necessary for computers thermal controls and monitoring temperatures. As soon as i re-enabled it, can't launch MXS anymore.
