Games choppy

Post by Darrin70 »

Hey Fellas, just wondering why this game is so choppy when my ghost rider appears, then after that I can by pass the finish line and it is still choppy.. Sound cracks then freeze's for a fraction of a sencond.. Very annoying since I just built another gaming PC ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB3, AMD 6 CORE 1090T, 16gig ram Corsair 1333mhz, and a XFX ATI RADEON 6850 1gig GDDR5.. Today I decided to put my old video card in XFX Nvidia 8800 GTS Aplha Dog edition, and same thing... My 4 year old pc ran this game flawlessly... Any ideas? Really pisses me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What does it say under "Driver info" in the graphics/sound screen?

For a 512 MB card you might want to turn down "model texture detail".

Is this only with the ghost rider? Other demos are smooth? Does it improve if you set "Ghost fade distance" to 0?

Hey Jlv, could you give me a list of all the graphics settings and other little settings to make MXS run smoother? I can't

really ride 3 guys wide on a stock track.. It would be very helpful for me because I feel I'm getting extremely better at MXS

and I can't necessarily ride to my full extent. I know that model texture details, etc. need to be turned down (Which I have

Done.) Would there be any other drivers or anything I could download at all? This would be very appreciated.

It really depends on what's slowing your down. I'd try turning the roost off entirely first. Also make sure the game isn't using more texture memory than you have. It tells you how much is in use after the track loads.

Yeah, I have had 0 roost for a while since I've seen you post that in another topic. I also know that it never exceeds my processing speed. I just need a good list of things to change, considering that my computer is really bad.
