mxs demo won't start

Hey guys, new here, trying to run the demo and eventually want to buy the full game but the demo doesn't work. I'm running windows 7 (64) here are my specs:

Graphics driver updated two days ago so I'm fairly certain it's not that. Another note to add is that I got the game working for a bit and then I was done playing so I closed it. I came back later and it wasn't working (when I say not working I mean it turns black as if it's about to then crashes). I think I was running windows xp sp3 in 640x480 when it worked but I was unable to replicate this. If any of you know how to get me running it would be much appreciated.

ahh yup that was it. Got it working at the expense of my case light up stuff.
