Game speed (loading graphics)

Post by Mikeyyart10 »

Hi i recently bought the full game and have downloaded some skins and models etc... which is good and work fine. But now the game seems to take longer to load and the graphics are good quality for what my Laptop can handle but seem to take a while to fully load so as im on a track i can see the track details loading as i go its very small transition but it seem to affect the speed at which the game reacts if you get what i mean for example it feels like the games very slightly in slow motion so to speak. its hard to explain if anyone has experienced the same problem and knows how to deal with it please tell me as im gettig a little fustrated with it and its ruining the game for me as im was getting into it until this problem arised.
and just to point out i have turn the graphics down to see if it affected anything and it didnt, this problem gets worse when riding download tracks.
Also the speed and performance of my laptop is good not amazing but even at peak times it work well so im a little cunfused as to what could be doing it as this is all i use it for MXS and Internet stuff :) i cleared internet files uninstalled usless programs and so on... and nothing has made a diffrence.

Sorry for making a new topic but couldnt find the info i needed hope anyone can help me out.

A lot of those models and tracks use a much more geometry than the stock stuff, so they'll be slower no matter what you do. If you're running a laptop with integrated graphics I'd stick with the stock models.

Thanks another question. my graphics are fine im happy with the quality of them but like i said above they dont load quick and it makes my game lag so to speak whats the best thing to do to imrpove this should i get a graphics card or imrove the size of my RAM or both as im guessing these are the cuase of the slow gameplay and slow loading.

Try lowering "Model Texture Detail" one or two steps. That will reduce the amount of memory used for textures. It will still have to initially load them from the disk though.

Disabling shader programs will usually speed up your frame rate too.
