MXS Server problem.
I've had a server that was setup the normal way with portforwarding for awhile but I just bought a new modem last night and now it's not working and I can't figure out why. I'm able to run the server, and connect to it using my IPv4 address. But whenever I give my local ip to someone, which does change often when I reset modem/router(never made a difference) they can't connect. I logged into the router thing to see but it all looked normal the portforward was there and then I redid it and still no one can connect, it keeps saying connecting...I'm sure it's cause of the new modem but I don't know what I need to do to fix it. Anyone know?

I wanna say that it's you using the same port twice, which is what gave me trouble alot, but then I realized you replaced the router. I would try using a different port, but if that doesn't work, then it's up to someone else to help you.

Do you have a modem and a router, or a just the modem? If you have a modem and a wireless router you need to either put the modem in PPP mode or put the router in wireless access point mode. Basically you only want one device acting as a router.

I have a modem and a router. On a desktop connected from a cord in the router. But yeah as soon as I got a new modem it just stopped working. I'll try doing that though I have no idea how..

Okay so I pretty much just forgot about this and never got my server working again. But I really want to get it working again now. Can someone please help me and tell me how to do what jlv said to do? Not a clue how to do either.

If you log onto the router there should be an option to put it in wireless access point mode instead of router mode. There might be a physical switch on the router too.

Sorry for being so dumb, but I looked in google, logged in my router and looked through the settings, and looked on my actual router and can't figure out how to do this. I have a Netgear WNDR3400 router.

I did a search on it and apparently some people managed to get it working. It might be easier to use PPP mode on that router.
