Judging by the wheel blur I see on screens, I don't think some guys have taken the time to look at a real photo.

Here is the first photo on Vurb I saw with wheel blur.

And wheels are definitely not always blurred either...

Not that I can tell you how to do it well, but thought I'd help bring some resources over so some of your talents may shine because it ruins a lot of shots when I look at them.

Wheel blur come from shooting with a low shutter speed, and the way to do it is to pan at the same speed the rider is moving causing the background to get blurred and most moving parts. As for sim, if the wheels are blurred that almost always means the background should be blurred as well. I personally take screenshots with the goal of replicating a how a camera would work, so I edit my pictures to look like real pictures in real life scenarios.

Granted I took these on an older point and shoot, this is panning with the rider. I had to take photos like this, the shutter speed was too slow, if I didn't all the riders looked like a blur .

I took this at AusX Open afew weeks ago. I havent edited this at all. I think we are doing not to bad to replicate wheel blur aha.

I do agree with chex tho. Some photos just dont really need wheel blur or it looks out of place.
