Number System for 2014

Post by Ddavis »

I've been trying to think of ideas for a numbering system in the EMF series, where it's more like the FIM system than the AMA system. I want rF guys to be able to race EMF with the same number, but I think guys who race perform better in EMF (Or only do EMF) can earn a real national number without some guy from rF making a one-off appearance in EMF and taking their number. I think it would be cool if EMF guys can run 1 digit numbers. I'd like a 1 digit number for being 5th in SX1/currently 3rd in MX1, and I know Corentin wants #5. I think after all is done I can create a mixed system of both series where rF guys can run the same number in both, but maybe if you finished Top 5 Overall in either of the SX1/SX2/MX1/MX2 championships you can have a unique number that may be lower than your rF number. I don't know, either way here's the EMF (MXSCentral Supercross Series + MXSEMF Motocross Series) points/Estimated numbers without any real swapping from rF to EMF.

i did think a lot about it and didn't find the best and fair system yet..
ive few ideas but need to think even more and wait the end of Outdoors to decide something.

Some players like me ride in 4 different websites and don't wanna change their number 4 time a week.
So i guess some guys will be able to use the same number they have on another website if they do at least 70%(more or less) of the EMF races.

Maybe have 10-999 be available for whichever people want to choose, then 2-9 will be reserved for where that person finished in the championship? (If they want)

They did it like this in the 1990's.
#1 - Corentin Dubois
#2 - Mikkel Hjorth
#3 - Jesse Mullins
#4 - Kim Pio
#5 - Devin Davis
#6 - Eduardo Simoes
#7 - Frederick Nylund
#8 - Bart Heuveling
#9 - Kim Ramsell

#1 - Dennis Fjeldberg
#2 - Jonathan Olsson
#3 - Ludvig Botten
#4 - Yohann Mayer
#5 - Kevin Lelong
#6 - Ruben Kuilder
#7 - Maxime Tison
#8 - Linus Mansson
#9 - Matt Cromie

Then 10-999 are open to everyone to pick themselves

or

Top 9 in points get single digit numbers, the rest choose whatever they want.

Regardless I think I want to run a single digit number in 2014  They're cool looking and aren't used enough on this game in racing because of the real life system, it takes many years before all of the numbers are used and everything flows correctly.

i think this would be the best idea, but what would happen to the rest of the numbers? how would you make sure no one has the same number?
could people reserve the numbers at the start of the season maybe?

Well i think about something like that :

First : Riders who earned a Race Factory Number AND played 70% of the races on mx or sx can choose to use it on EMF. If they want a new number, they will choose depending on their 2013 overall Results.
Second : Riders who got a Number on MX-Online (yes they are many) AND who made 70% of the Mx or Sx races, can use their number, except the 1 digit numbers.
Third : Top 10 from 2013 can choose a number which isnt take so between 2 and 999 .

thats just an idea ..

If people were able to choose a single digit just because, it would defeat the purpose of the real life system.

Jeremy plenty of European riders who've never won titles have single digit numbers. Ken deDyker, Tanel Leok, Jonathan Barragan, etc. The number system is completely different in Europe

When riders enter the series, is it possible on your website to request an assigned number? Or create a number page where riders request a number and you can accept/deny/recommend it? Maybe reserve 2-9 for certain UIDs (Top 10), then the rest will request a number. If someone else requests that number, it will be based on total number of points and whoever has the most points out of the two in EMF then they will get the requested number. You know? It would be a "2014 Numbers" page on the website and will have a list 2-999 and you can click the number and it says "Are you sure you want to run this number in the 2014 series" and you click Yes, then it says "Pending Approval". You know?

Would be possible. but whats up with ppl who doesn't choose one ? we give them automatic number between the remaining? if they dont choose means they dont care anyway.
i think it's a good idea, and ruben wanted to do that long time ago.

I think when they sign up for the series there can be a error that says "Must choose number before entering championship"

I don't know how I missed this, but I'm thinking about it since round one of the outdoor season last year.

My idea was to make a number registration page. We ask the top 10 in both classes to signup their number. After that everyone else can choose the number they want.
But if your idea works, that would be better. Mine isn't a very good idea tbh:/
2013 EMF outdoors 2nd place overall
2013 MxSCentral outdoors 2nd place overall
2012 EMF outdoors 2nd overall
2012 SMA sx 2nd overall
2011 SMA outdoors champion
