Englishtown Raceway Park, New Jersey (WIP)

Post by ShackAttack12 »

You guys may know me from my previous WIP that i had no time to finish. Hamburgring... I still have all my work
and i may finish it one day.

I've decided to make a post about my new work in progress.

I will be working on Englishtown Raceway Park in New Jersey, Probably the 2006/2007 layout as i can not find an entire
picture, group of pictures, or video on the 2008 layout. I used to race there when i was younger on a ktm 125.
Its a great track and a great layout that ever skill of rider can ride. Theres stuff that 85 riders can clear, and stuff
that 250f and 450f riders push the limits on.

My goal is to make the track as realistic and to scale as possible, while retaining the fun factor in MXS. This means
that in the game, you will probably overjump a couple jumps if you are WFO all over the track. This track is meant
to be an amatuer racetrack, not really an ama pro national.

Track Information

This is the 2006/2007 Layout

Here is a short video of how that huge hill in the backround is.... Its a really fun section
Good 85cc riders can do it if they stay WFO.

Here is a helmet cam video of a quad rider on the 2006/2007 layout

Heres 2 videos from this year. If you pay attention, you'll see how the track is changed.
This video also shows the backside of the big hill. This kid is FAST on his 250f

My Work Progress
This is where i will post my progress....

Novemeber 05,2008
I just started on this about 15 mintues ago.
Image
This is my base texture map that i will be working off of. I used Google earth to obtain this photo. I used the ruler
tool to figure out the real distance between 2 points on the map, and then cooresponded feet to pixels for the terrain
map. I am using a 2049x2049 height map for this project. My terrain.hf file reads (10) (1.0) (0.0) (100.00) so that
each pixel represents 1ft in the game.

More to come.

No, not really.

We've all been doing this since before decals. :D

I did the same thing with the Sachsenring MotoGP track I made, along with Donington, Southwick, Unadilla, Udevalla, and Washougal.

Southwick is waiting for some berms and decals/objects.

Unadilla only has the layout and gravity cavity made.

I race this track in real life, its real fun to ride and there are some nice jumps ( the big stairway is my favorite). Yeah and on the video of the 85s the kids that did that nice whip is Jesse Peirce... he's sooo fast =]
