love the city idea motoboss, since i'm all for amazing environments to compliment tracks. here's a half hour project of mine, weird mix of fantasy and realism. each grid block is 20 ft, most people probably won't like it since i overshoot the 60ft triples in 1st gear with -2 2 gearing, but eh, felt like making something after class today.

Well I was working in downtown St Louis and I drove past a area just like what you see and I thought it would be a great environment and as I was making it I thought it would also be a great Community Project but idk if anyone would be interested
I thought we could have weekly projects on it ...for example
1st week everyone submits there track path ...then we vote for wich one is best
2nd week everyone submits there best idea for 1st designated section for voted on track path etc..till track layout is complete
Then a Texture submission by everyone and voted on
Ect..
Anyone can submit there work ...

Hope u understand what im trying to get across....

you could basictly model the whole city...at least the buildings...make a skybox that has buildings so they "block" the view mostly

Cool guys .. :D Ill get it set up after the track competition..I dont want it to interfere with that...So people can stay focused.
Ill release the enviroment to everyone..Then to start we will have a week to come up with track paths..

I've actually gotten into making collision, somewhat, and it's not that hard.

I just use Blender; making spheres that fill up the object. You just need the coordinates and sizes of the spheres. So, when it defaults to a size 1 sphere, at [0,0], it's not very hard at all getting the numbers for the collision file.

I know that this is off topic, but wouldn't it be nice if objects had the same collision (/traction levels, i don't know exactly what it uses) as the ground? Then the collision file could just be the [friction spring damping] settings. And you would also get a perfect surface, not multiple spheres put together.

it'd be cool if you could jump up on to the buildings, and then you had building ramp jumps
