yea i never played that game i only watched one video of it and thats it hahahahaha. well what is the biggest that we can make the map?checkerz wrote:What he is saying is "long and narrow" tracks won't work. They have to wrap around.
FYI, the maps on Baja: Edge of Control were squares not any larger than what we are using in most cases, they just did a great job of hiding pieces of the track behind hills and in valleys to keep you from realizing there is more track "just over there".

You can set the scale to anything you want. With a 2049x2049 field, a scale of 8 would be about 3x3 miles. With that scale you could probably make TT style turns and jumps.

Well, in a 3x3 mile track you could get 30 miles by zigzagging across it 10 times.

You could ziz-zag 100 times and still have a 158 foot-wide track, if every turn was an about-face.

TP. If you had a 70 foot-wide track, you could get 600 miles in one direction, turn around and come back for 1200 miles. Helluva map!

Re: Baja 1000 map idea!
that is vary true. so then lets do that. but lets try and make the track seam like as if you are not doing zig zag. basicaly a optical olution that you are not going zig zag. and with it being like 600 miles then thats purfect:) and if you watch videos on the baja. the track is not going straight. there is all ways turns in it. yea some parts it does go straight but thats be side the point. i think we can actually pull this off!

Re: Baja 1000 map idea!
Make many maps instead.
Make the map big as possible and do 1 part of the BAJA 1000, that track will be named Baja-part 1. Then do another and name it Baja-part 2. Every track will be as a checkpoint. do u get what i mean?

quite possibly the best idea in this thread. Problem is, I don't think Chillydogzzzzzzz even will open the editor to try.mecke96 wrote:Make many maps instead.

Re: Baja 1000 map idea!
I have tried and had some abortive attempts at track making. I figure if I can use MasterCam and Gibbscam, I can do the editor and/or models. I'd love to be able to create based off dimensions in CAD/CAM and then translate(or export as...?) to 3D programs or MXS editor. Maybe some Ritalin might help me get our local Thursday night MX track replicated this fall/winter. It's pretty flat and good for a beginner such as myself. I usually end up gaming(or trolling?) instead of something productive. :\
