I have tried it out and it works quite well, the only thing I dont like is the rounded shapes it produces...I dont know if it is just my settings but I am trying to get a little bit of a sharper tip on the braking bumps and ruts.

I agree with some of the others about a minimum speed, if this goes live in multiplayer it will be a mess with people falling and cutting across the track all over the place. I am sure JLV has that under control though.

Ok noob stuff here:

After searching for hours, I found the instructions for enabling erode on the first post of the FAQ thread. Adding --erode 1.0 at the end of the target line. I also downloaded the snapshot on page 8 of this thread.

The problem is that I am not getting any erode, but the shading is working, kinda. It huge blotches, the soil around me changes color. I leave a 6 foot wide wake of blocky, lighter colored shading, and that is it. No erosion.

Has anyone had a similar problem, or think they might be able to point me in the right direction? Really want to play with erode and try some of the settings suggested.

Basically next lap you come around, you will see the terrain deformation. You can't sit there high-centered on a berm and try to dig yourself into a hole in the ground as I was doing.

I have a question- why does the ground change drastically in color when you ride over that part of the track for the first time? Like what does that do?

It re-calculates the shading. If the shading on the track is modified at all (like how I coloured Budds Creek and Thunder Valley using the shadingx2), then it will revert back to its normal shading.

Ahhh, thanks, makes sense. Wish I could make bat files on Mac, to change slope cuz right now I'm getting some small potholes from where I fell on 0.5. I kinda figured out a way, but it keeps denying my permissions change in terminal. Anyone on Mac and able to do this?

Yeah sorry guess I wasn't clear enough. I already found that page and went through the instructions, step-by-step and got stuck with a denied permissions everytime.

I feel like a jerk for asking for help about erode, but I really don't know what I am doing wrong :)

Firstly, I got erode working earlier today, in fact I got it working so smooth that I would get dark patches where I had been riding on the track, which would update as I rode.

I exited the game to set "C:\Program Files '(x86)\MX Simulator\mx.exe" --editor --erode 1' to '"C:\Program Files (x86)\MX Simulator\mx.exe" --editor --erode 2' . And since then I haven't been able to make erode work. I tried setting the value back to 1.0, I tried several snapshots, tried the bat file.

Currently all that seems to be working is the white patches that "follow" me around track as I ride. I get no erode what so ever.

I don't know what I am doing wrong, I even re-installed the game.. Nothing..

Thanks in advance!
