How do i fix these ripples?

Can you post a pic of your gradient? Maybe that could be the problem. If not then it would help using a 2049x2049 map but that's not really necessary unless you're making a big track.

Im guessing its because you are using 1025x1025 resolution terrain.png with a large scale.

I think it's because his rut is built using the line segment instead of the curve meaning the top of the rut is a point instead of rounded. The rut is quite small too so if you smooth it, it will look quite daft. I think rafagas' rut technique is the best one to use to be honest, i use to use gradients but now i just follow his technique. I think it was rafagas' technique anyway..

The technique:
1.Use the raise tool and draw the outside of your rut.
2. use the lower tool and draw the inside of your rut.
3. smooth it. Make sure the beginning and end of the rut are more smoothed out than the middle part of the rut

Im sure all i had to do was make the image larger but wasnt sure if I had to make the height file differant.
