Here are two tiles I used for Budds Creek

friction 1.05 0
friction 0.6 0.1
friction 1.05 0.6

roll_resist 20 50 0

friction 1.05 0
friction 0.8 0.1
friction 1.0 0.6
friction 1.3 12
roll_resist 20 50 0

Here's the traction I used on Southwick:

friction 0.25 0
friction 0.58 0.5
friction 1.02 2.5
friction 1.07 7
friction 1.13 60
roll_resist 2 50 0
roll_resist 60 90 30
roll_resist 80 105 60

Here are the two tiles I used at Alcarras.

Main track:

friction 1.15 0
friction 1.42 0.15
friction 1.35 2.5
friction 1.25 4
friction 1.13 38
friction 1.22 65
roll_resist 5.0 5.0 10.0

Concrete:

friction 1.15 0
friction 1.32 0.15
friction 1.25 2.5
friction 1.20 4
friction 1.08 38
friction 1.20 65
roll_resist 5.0 5.0 10.0

Most materials have fairly high static friction. You guys want the coefficient to be pretty high at 0 slip, then drop off as the static friction breaks, then raise again as viscous friction takes over. Having the lowest friction coefficient at slip speed 0 only makes sense for an air hockey table.

Even ice has a higher static coefficient:

Code: Select all

Surfaces µ (static) µ (kinetic)
Steel on steel 0.74 0.57
Glass on glass 0.94 0.40
Metal on Metal (lubricated) 0.15 0.06
Ice on ice 0.10 0.03
Teflon on Teflon 0.04 0.04
Tire on concrete 1.00 0.80
Tire on wet road 0.60 0.40
Tire on snow 0.30 0.20

Has anyone got a really boggy kinda traction like for a wet track so a bit of a greasy feel combined with the bike slightly bogging?

Could you post the settings you use for Lommel? Or are they similar to southwick?

Lommel traction:
friction 0.35 0
friction 1.04 0.2
friction 0.65 2.5
friction 1.08 7
friction 1.13 60
roll_resist 40 95 0
roll_resist 75 115 30
roll_resist 95 135 60

I just noticed that there's a typo in the first roll_resist line of the Southwick traction; it was supposed to be: roll_resist 20 50 0.

Does anybody of a good muddy traction?

Here's the one from Blackhawk Hollow.

Code: Select all

friction 0.85 3.0
friction 0.55 7.0
friction 0.69 22.0
friction 0.85 40.0
roll_resist 0.15 0.10 25.0
roll_resist 35.0 75.0 50.0
And the one from County Fair MX.

Code: Select all

friction 1.0 0.0
friction 0.85 8.0
friction 0.85 22.0
friction 0.99500 70.0
roll_resist 15 20 25
roll_resist 25 75 70
roll_resist 25 95 150
Either of them good enough?
