You are my man! This is so sick! I was thinking about building something like this for a long time but didnt know how to bring it good ingame, you did! I really hope you try to make the skybox so that the sea looks like a real sea, lot of depth and maybe a .seq file would be sick for a little wave structure... maybe something you can think about or hook up with someone who knows what he does.270 wrote:Latest project starting to take shape!

I wish we could run 4k or even more res displacements. Would be so sick to have ruts like this IMO. But they are too jagged.
Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
Started working on this this past winter and never got around to finishing it. Hoping to get back to work on it now. Dont mind the shitty graphics.

Well yea but as youll see just smoothing once seriously alters those ruts shapes, as far as depth and width. I think its the width thats most important. Making you really slow down to get into the ruts. When they are tall and skinny like in the pics you really have to respect the ruts and choose lines. Cant just hold it wide open. Smoothed once and you can go back to riding anywhere.jeremy103 wrote: Smooth tool
Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
you could build the ruts up higher then blur them in photoshop, they wont be as jagged.

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
I didn't look at the terrain.hf but did you see how hagg executed on one of his GP betas with his files he released? He definitely did it very well. I think you'd have to be at a .75 or below to really pull it off well.
Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
You are fine as long as you keep it under 1.00. But of course, the lower the better.
Hagg started testing 4k terrains and worked perfectly fine on his computer but mine was struggling. If my mind doesn't fail, I think it was very laggy even without objects

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
Its like 1.15 I think, 2k obviously. Could have been smaller for sure. Next year it should probably be cropped. It could probably work if I run the smooth just through the bottoms of each rut but clearly that would take some time and patience.
I tested out 4k on Budds creek. Computer wouldnt do it even at very low graphics. Ran out of virtual memory. But Ive got this running at 4k and its even a 1.25 in the hf!!! That would be 2.5 on a 2049, 5.0 on 1025, right? Basically huge. But there are no models. That must be all the difference. Idk. Kind of confused.
Not even struggling either on frame rate...
