Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
Been awhile since i started a track ( or got this far along ) Track textures are made by SkyMx ( Alex ) and heightmap was made by me. i am handing it off to Kyle Watt's so he can finish it and make it perfected track.

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
Anyone know where I can find a top-down view of the Charlotte GP layout? I've found the seating chart image that shows the general layout, and the shitty 3d image that is tilted and shows where some jumps are (if you squint hard enough), but I can't find an overhead view that shows jumps/berms/etc...anyone have an idea where to look? Thanks in advance

Good luck Justin. Chances are you wont ever find one unless LITpro is there and decides to make it available. If I were doing the track, I'd start with satellite image on the stadium or whatever that it's in. Then Id try to match up the "general layout" that you found. And use both of those the best you can. Look for distinguishable markings on the satellite image to figure out where jumps should be.

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
Thanks man. I've overlaid the "track map" ontop of a satellite image from GE and scaled it (thanks for that, btw, since I learned the math part from you ), though I don't think that map was entirely spot on since some of the jumps don't fit well into the lane lengths and needed adjusting. I've scoured the web for pictures and finally found a few videos of certain sections that I couldn't tell from that awful 3d image, so it's starting to come together...slowly. I figure I'll have a much better idea of how the track rides after the race today, wasn't trying to get it made before the irl race anyway, just an attempt to build a replica that has gotten me re-engaged with track making. I'm having fun with it, so hopefully it turns out well, but we shall see...barrington314 wrote:Good luck Justin. Needs to be bigger, you should be landing in the down side of the triple.

Re: Upcoming Tracks and Track Objects #2
1-1 width imo is definitely too narrow. Made some replica tracks of a few local swedish tracks, after a while I realized that in the editor, it's radius, not diameter the circle is measured with. What did I learn? 2x the real width feels real. Also considering how close you can be without problem vs in mxsim, I guess it's quite fair. Otherwise traction will compensate for the others.mxsrider96 wrote:I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. I've never had anything about but fun on Jay's tracks.
