Big shoutout to you Kristoffer for still being around the hole sim community. Don't know if ur still streaming and all that but it was hell of fun to be in your streams. I'm happy to say goodbye to MXSim but i'll still remember those fun moments!

Thanks! I'm 7 years down the road and I know I'll make it 10 years, no problem. Streaming, not much really, which is unfortunate. Should check back in and join in if there are more streams :) Since gp's are over and such, bet I'll get back into some trackmaking streams again :)

This is the second SX track i've ever tried to build, and yeah, it's not that great. It's kinda just gonna be released to get the ball rolling for my other tracks i've been working on that, i promise you, are gonna be much better quality than this.

Feel free to leave some constructive criticism.

Track looks like it flows decent but I don't get how people can ride with 1st person settings like that. :)

Oh I don’t play in first person, so I never changed the settings. It was only in 1st person for the sake of making a “virtual lap” or whatever.

I have a bunch of these made that I've been messing around on. Some are pretty hard but they're pretty fun.

12 000 independant grass meshes resulting in ruffly 100 000 Tris 512x1536 Mip mapped, exported as 1 object. (4 grass types in one image) makes for decent variation can easily be improved upon.
Maxed graphics no lagg.

5000 Regular grass statues (8 tris) =40 000 placed one by one (the traditional way) 128x192 Mip mapped. looks very repetitive bad coverage minimal customizability.
maxed graphics, more or less constant fps drop

Anyone know a way to get numbers how much performance diffrens certaing things do? I dont know if others have been testing stuff like this beffore, I cant think of any drawback in performance result or time. eager to hear what others have to say. I'm a complete newbie with this kind of stuff

Sorry if this in the wrong thread but I think a lot of others will find this interesting as well

Looks amazing! I think a new thread might be cool to discuss this in detail. I've just started experimenting with 3D grass and think it can bring a really nice extra dimension to the environment. I haven't really hammered down a solid technique yet, but so far have been taking inspiration from this video:

I think SMR 510RR was experimenting with something similar, but don't know if he ever got it to a finished point: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic. ... 95#p592049

Some more vegetation discussion: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic. ... t=3d+grass

I'd love to hear more about your approach. I'd also be happy to beta test if you need another perspective regarding performance, etc.
