Does this only happen with specific tracks or all tracks you download?

Probably missing decals.

It has all of the decals and everything, it is a track I made a couple of weeks ago and when someone downloaded it, it got all black. I also took the file out of my file and downloaded it to put the other file in, and when I did that it happened to me to and made the game lag very bad.

If the track had all the decals wouldn't it not be all black? You either didn't include the decals the track uses or you broke the pathnames to the decals when you archived the track. Check that the filenames and directory structure matches on the extracted track.

Sorry I missed phrased that, the screen goes black and gets glitchy.

The entire screen goes black? Maybe you have the starting position inside an object?

I have just had what I think is the same problem.

I was building a track in the editor like a thousand times before, saved and exited fine - I have come to do some more editing and the decals and the skybox show up as black. I get the Statues showing up fine.

I checked all of the file paths and directory names (although I saved, exited, turned pc off and have not used until re-entering sim - what else is a PC for?!) - all seemed fine, I copied in a new lighting file and it has helped slightly although the colours are still wrong in the editor and now I get a black area around the rider/bike as I move.

Maybe a file got corrupted? or something in the lighting is off but I'm not sure why the editor menu colours change and the timemaps are all black when the directory structure is ok - other tracks, including my previous custom ones show up fine apart from this new one that I have started, very strange.

I am using a GTX970m btw - I have not seen any updates, will test on my Desktop if no-one has any ideas..

Looks like the game is running the wrong shader. Can you post the track somewhere?

Pathnames with spaces in them won't work correctly. Try naming the folder "KI_Raceway" instead of "KI Raceway" and updating your statues/decals/etc to use the new name.

It still shouldn't go black like that though. I'll see if I can fix that bug.

I had a look at the track and it's just black. The southernmost 3/4 of the shading file is all black.
