Released Objects

Post by wakestyle21 »

I have been seeing a lot of people use DJ's yellow post in place of the AMA stakes like these:

Here is one that more closely resembles the real thing:

Thanks to Gordy for testing and getting a screen shot

To use the stake:
1. download and unzip the file
2. put the ama_stake.saf in your track folder
3. open the statues file and copy the line that's in there
4. open your track's statues file and paste the line you copied in there
5. Go into the editor and find the stake

[1000.000000 0.000000 1050.000000] 0.000000 @operationmx/models/ama_stake.jm
@operationmx/models/ama_stake.png null
[2000.000000 0.000000 50.000000] 0.000000 @operationmx/ama_stake.jm
@operationmx/ama_stake.png null

I tried both of these and also without the underscore

[1000.000000 0.000000 1050.000000] 0.000000 @operationmx/models/amastake.jm
@operationmx/models/amastake.png null

This is the right line:
[2000.000000 0.000000 50.000000] 0.000000 @operationmx/ama_stake.jm

The stake is small and hard to see sometimes...Has anyone got this to work yet? Like I said gordy tested it and it worked for him so im not sure what the problem is

it's just not showing up. i can see the object manupulator, but i can't see the object itself. I know it's not a problem with the naming of my tracks anymore because i have other custom objects in the game and visible. I'm not sure what the problem is, but i really want to use this stake!

just to make sure, the two files are ama_stake.jm, ama_stake.png

yes and they arent in a folder like most other objects so u use them with just @trackName/ama_stake instead of @trackName/modelsPack/ama_stake

i guess i'll just keep trying to do different things cause i can't seem to get them to show up.

edit: with the .jm file and the .png file i got it to work. there might be a problem with the saf file. if anyone has gotten the saf file to work let me know.

Ok I have finally figured out why this stake wasnt working. After you put the ama_stake.saf file in your track folder the line in your statues file should look like this:

[2000.000000 0.000000 50.000000] 0.000000 @ama_stake.jm @ama_stake.png null

I originally thought you needed to put the track folder's name in front of each file but it turns out that safs are treated like they are in the root directory even if they are in a track folder.(thanks JLV)

I have updated the first post with some new directions and there is an updated statues file in the zip.

Please test this out and let me know if it works for everyone now. (Especially you ddmx)

Thanks to Gordy, Voutare and DJ for testing.
