if you exported/ saved it in .png format, you might only have to resize it to 1025 pixels to work in game

you try naming it "terrain.png"?

Is it 16 bit gray scale?

still not working? What exactly are you getting in editor? If it's just flat, it could be your terrain.hf needs updated.

Yeah, It's just the basic "blank". minalt is -196.14 and maxalt is 929.39. Any tips of what program to use for the text file? And what exactly it should look like? RIght now my "terrain.hf" is "9 2.000000 -196.14 929.39". Using microsoft word to open it which it looks like it changed the format, so i'm not exactly sure if that worked or not.

that might very well be your problem. Always open terrain.hf in Notepad or Notepad ++

Does anyone use the editor to make terrain just some small hills? I dont really want to download another program and i only need to make some small hills for corners and stuff on my track.

I think you can use the Gradient editor tool to create hills you want.

I'm not sure but try that:
Copy and paste the shading.ppm file from another track folder
edit your track
optionnal : maybe you'll have to apply a smooth value to generate good shading, or it's only for generate shadingX2 file.
save it
