Mine took about 45 minutes, putting the spec map takes about about 15 seconds

What Helm are you using? could u please link it?

Creating a simple spec map would be hitting ctrl+n for new layer and filling it with a dark grey and setting the layer opacity to like 3% and saving it... A whole 10 seconds.
