The Hidden Compound

Post by 137 »

I have been waiting to release this ever since I started fixing it up and having it look better. This is originally the Atlas Compound which I have completely changed the SX track and some of the MX, new decals and new enviroment. I hope you guys enjoy it, rip it on up and have a good and safe New Years!!

Thanks to:
All the people who created the objects for the JS7 Compound
Jay for the decals and lighting file and sky

All the beta testers and the people who gave me tips and ideas for the track.
And if I forgot anybody let me know.

Enjoy.!

Let me start by saying thank you.
This compound is by far one of the funnest and best looking releases on MXS.
It seems like both tracks are great for racing too, with the many line choices.

Pros:
1)Visuals/Atmosphere are consistent across the entire map. By that, I mean the visuals are good everywhere versus good on the track and bad off the track. Keeps the immersion level high.
2)Good Flow. Everything felt right and was a blast to ride. I felt like this track allowed you to easily get into a groove, yet still provided a challenge.
3)Originality. Every berm and jump had it's own look and feel. I didn't see any copy/paste work here, and that is great.

Cons:
1)The one decal that almost breaks my first Pro, are the tire marks. They just didn't look fitting. I'd say that in the future you should add that originality I mentioned in Pro 3 to your texture work.
2)Was a bit hard to see certain bumps. Not sure if this was because of your shadowing or something else, but you're next track will be much more enjoyable if we could have better vision of the roughness of terrain.
3)Map Size. As well of a job that you've done at hiding the edges, it's still no enough. When you jump high enough you can see the outside of the map and it almost ruins the visual quality you have here. Next time maybe try using a bigger base map and keep your tracks away from the edges.

As I said before, amazing work. I hope you keep doing what you're doing! :)
