Post by RH154 »

I feel like I'm seeing to many people saying bad stuff about erode.
As a new player to the game (Bought the game 2nd February) It is a totally different game as erode brings a new element to racing even for the veterans, I think talking bad on erode is pointless unless you have a valid point.

My opinion on:

I think as a new-comer the erode brings another element for us beginners to learn and if erode will continue for online racing it will be good for us to start learning erode as beginners, I think that the erode is great and the way Glen Helen roughened up for the pro race it was great.

Good job to the track crew and thank you for all yous do for the community

Thanks,
Brandon

The second picture is after you manually update the shading. I just did it by smoothing the entire map with 0 strength. You can see the shadows show up. It's not a huge difference I suppose but there are still spots of shading on the track that show up when you ride over themImage
Here is Hangtown before. Image

This doesn't even look like the 2018 glen helen? Why is the track so much different?

Because you're probably looking at the Hangtown photos. Unless you're commenting on why the MXS version doesn't match the 2018 Glen Helen in real life, then in that case... The tracks are referencing the previous year's track.

Go watch 250 moto 2 from Glen Helen as one example.

In the past, the tracks always became one lined because they did not change and guys memorized the fastest line and used time trial even if it was only a tenth faster because the track was always the same.

Even the best tracks (IRL or in a game) will have one lined sections. Is it perfect? No, but we're only on the second round.

Already though, there were passes and at least 2 lines in every corner in green during the 250 motos.

11 Corners Created at least 2 lines.
6 Corners were one lined.

I think we're doing okay.

Just was informed these were during the EU race with the erode turned below what it was designed to be. Explains a lot, the lower the erode the less lines will form.

Doing great. I loved erode from day 1, so seeing it improve as much as it has already is very exciting. I don't know if the folks complaining about erode have seen a real mx race, but a changing, rough track is essential motocross. I thought the end of the NA ams motos felt very authentic. Of course the downhills are gnarly, it's Glen Helen.

Thanks to everyone putting the effort into making erode work. Glad you are willing to push the boundaries of what this game can be.

+1 here! I wasnt able to race last week but thought glen helen got rough enough but not too bad. really had to be smart on the hills and with line choices as well. I never really liked the '17 and older outdoor tracks but feel as though the erode make them so much better. Keep up the hard work guys :D
