*Track Contest V.2* Deepsouth MX

Postby dearnhardtfan7 » Sat Oct 11, 2008 8:11 am

Whew. Ok here it is. I have spent about 2 and a half months on this track trying to make it perfect. I feel like it is a very fun track. Long lap times, plenty of stuff to do. Almost all of the jumps are scrubbable/whippable. I used JLV's new decals because I am absolutely horrible at making my own. I tried several different times and they all looked like crap. Ignore the scoring stands they look like garbage. MOST IMPORTANTLY this track is dedicated to #27 Foster Turner who lost his life in a motocross accident earlier this year here in Alabama. Foster was 12 years old and he loved nothing more than being on his motocross bike whether it was on the track or in a grassy field. Rest in Peace Foster.

DJ--more banners
JLV--decals and the best motocross game ever
And of course I had to plug my sponsors.(you'll see)

also I hope nobody has problems with lag but if you do I have put a low-def statues and billboards file in the folder. I would first try changing billboardslow to billboards and if that does not help the lag change statues low to statues. I was able to run iTunes behind mx sim and only had minor lag towards the end of the project. Good luck.

Yeah this track is really fun and really fast, wide open in some places. Great job.
I'll start it off with a 2:33:2 I just did after a few laps, lets see what we can get the lap times down to.

WOW, I'd like to start by saying sorry to the parents/friends of Foster Turner, we had a local kid in MO, Justin Sutterer, who was in a race in Texas and got landed on and was pronounced dead before they could even get him off the track. It was an extremely sad day for District 18, because like Turner, he was literally at every race. But enough of the sadness, THIS TRACK IS AWESOME...I love everything, there is nothing to complain about, you even have 2 other tracks on the map, 1 freestyle & 1 SX. Amazing job, you have my vote (partially because nobody else has a track out yet). Since DJ isn't going to do Archview MX, you should defenitely try, after seeing this track, I think you could do Archview justice

Thanks for all the kind words and I'm really glad you all like the track. I forgot to mention that I put a timing gates file in for the arenacross. Find arenatiming_gates in the folder and drop the "arena" from the name and you can run timed laps on it. Just in case anyone feels like running it.

Nah, no lag whatsoever. I was getting a solid 60+ FPS all around the track, even with a few (like 3) AI riders.
I like this track a lot..good job man!
