I think smoothing the off track terrain will do.

i'd preffer to keep the track but take out some tree's banners etc....much rather ride a good ugly track than a bad pretty track.

what are your system spec's?

i wouldn't be changing the track at all. I would be smoothing the offtrack terrain.

I haven tested to delete those yet. Snaping did a positive effect so I was happy with it.

Here is the updated terrain. It is smoothed out with the hopes of improving performance on low end pcs. The actual track terrain has not been changed, just the offtrack.
If you are still having problems let me know and I can upload a billboards file with fixes also.

Unzip and replace the previous terrain.png with this one.

wow.. pretty amazing. love the track. Really has a clay-track feel to it with the sharp -jagged breaking bumps and the sheen on the jump faces. Im getting a touch of lag but my computer is kind of a peice of shit.

did you try the "less lag" terrain.png file a couple of posts up? that might help in that department

Hey, I rendered some shadows for this track. Put this shading.ppm file into the lifestyle folder

You have to do a bit of editing to the track.pov file when you have your own billboards. I removed all of the grass billboards from the file, and changed your tree to jtamarack_42, thats why the shadows don't look like your tree. Also, I scaled up the size of the tree shadows, which is done at the top of shadows.pov, change the 3.xxxxxx*0.66 to 3.xxxxxx*1 (xxxxxx = bunch of numbers) in the jtamarack_42 part. Then, when rendering the shadow, because you scaled down your track, only part of the rendered image is of the track. You render it at 2050x2050, then crop it to 1025x1025. Complicated eh?
