Re: Real MX Pics
Did you find out what happened to your Zook 450? Also how do those newer bikes compare to your old CR250R? I was thinking of getting 96 CR250R for rebuild or just getting 06+ YZ250. Nice bike I bet that Honda 450 feels lighter than the Zook.Kawasakis wrote:Thanks!Always wanted a kawi or yamaha, but never had as good deal as I got for this one

Well I rode it in the race for the first time and it was -3 celsius and I haven't rode for 3 weeks so my hands was all cold and pumped, couldn't really feel it.. But it definitely felt really good, didn't even feel the difference when I first rode it. I'll try it out better this weekend, nice weather, perfect soil.
Zook head got pretty messed up, don't really know the words in English, but the chain that is in the engine jumped and it destroyed piston, valves and some other things. Rod and gearbox still good.
As for comparison, newer bikes are so much more better in every possible way I think, better throttle control, weight distribution, handling, suspension. I got better since I was riding them 2 smokers, so it would really be interesting to try one out now and see how things are really are.

What bike was it?
Re: Real MX Pics
That's what happened to my KTM both times it blew up. First time wasn't nearly as bad as the second, guy who fixed the motor didn't set the chain up right and blew it up again within a few hours at his track. We told him it would happen but he said it just had to be broken in, so thats what we did.

I notice the ergonomics on the 90's bikes are very weird unless you ride them a lot. The seat has a huge dip instead of flat like newer seats. I always find myself sitting too far forward on my bike. Newer suspension handles the small bumps a lot better too. Much easier to grip a big AF frame like the Honda than those skinny steel frames IMO.Kawasakis wrote:Well I rode it in the race for the first time and it was -3 celsius and I haven't rode for 3 weeks so my hands was all cold and pumped, couldn't really feel it.. What are you going to do Kawa? Getting the motor fixed? I mean... you would have a good reason to build an AF 250 2 stroke now

That'd be really cool, but I'll try to sell the Zook somehow, of course fix the damn thing first.
