Go ride at Uwharrie national forest if you want a real workout, I was riding there everyday for awhile and it's ridiculous.

I'm planning on going there whenever it gets above 65 fahrenheit. Today was 34 and it was a terrible ride.

When I lived in Southern California I rode daily!
I had a 2015 Scott Genius 740. Fox air forks and shock about 150mm of travel.
Good times!!
Also, If you like to pedal you should check out your local BMX race track! I;ve been racing my whole life and it's a lot of fun!
